Can anyone identify the SAM-15 and SAM-16 SAM’s for me, as I have heard these referred to in the pre-1991 air-defence inventory of the Iraqi Army. I believe NATO changed all its Russian SAM designations sometime after 1991, and I can’t figure out what they were.
ps. I saw a picture of a “SAM-15” on TV, and it appeared to be a trailer mounted system, with missiles similar in size and configuration to the US HAWK system. I cannot identify this.
ps. Does anyone know what the status is of Iraq’s primary air-defences. I assume they’ve only got SA-2’s -3’s, -6’s and SA-7’s.
