Singapore Navy fires Barak missiles

SINGAPORE, July 10 (AFP) – 09:52 GMT – The Singapore defence ministry said Wednesday it had successfully fired Barak anti-missile missiles in the South China Sea during a military exercise with the US Navy.
The missiles were fired Sunday by the corvette RSS Valiant on targets simulating missile attack, the ministry said in a statement.

The Israeli built Barak targets missiles and other airborne objects such as aircraft. It is fired from a vertical launcher which gives it a 360 degree range.
