IRAN COMPLETES MILITARY EXERCISE:

NICOSIA [MENL] — Iran has tested indigenous artillery and missiles as part of a recent military exercise.

Iran’s military ended a large-scale exercise last month in the southern region of the country. The Beit Muqadas-14 maneuvers included land forces as well as fighter-jets and attack helicopters in the area of Shiraz.

Media reports said the final phase of Beit Muqadas included a mock attack by Iranian fighter-jets, bombers and helicopters. The maneuvers took place just outside Shiraz.

Iranian military commanders said the aim of the exercise was to improve the accuracy of artillery and missiles. They said this included the precision of Iranian-made weapons systems developed over the last few years.
