Two quick questions:TIALD and the Su35…and the M

Been ages since i posted on AFM.See quite a few familiar faces..:)

Two quick questions.

1.Anyone remember the fracas over the Su35 and the TIALD pod at Farnborough a few years back?A TIALD pod was iirc displayed as “part” of the Su35 “static” exhibit and everyone did an “oh my gawsh”.Turned out later that it was a fake call-a prank- and Gec marconi had no such plans,expecially since TIALD is the RAF specific fit.

Anyone remember the above?So is my recollection correct? 🙂

Any links wrt the above would be appreciated.To back up our memories that is.

Especially since the Gentlemen at Janes continue to publish the Pic of A su35 with a TIALD in their All the World’s Aircraft.

2.What designators do the Chinese use for their MKK’s?
The OLS in a dive or a TIALD type FLIR cum illuminator?I’d wager they got a few litenings for the MKK’s as they -the MKK’s -appear to be the ones earmarked for PGM delivery.Washtimes reports that the PLAAF may acquired 2000 AS-14’s.
