Czech govt fails to get funding for Gripen

PRAGUE – The government has failed to obtain parliamentary approval
for the financing of the purchase of 24 SAAB/BAE Systems JAS-39 Gripen.
The draft bill, rejected on May 31 by the Senate, failed by one vote to obtain the necessary 101 votes today in a new vote by the lower house of parliament.
The plan to purchase the aircrafts is therefore blocked and will be further debated by parliamentary committees on Friday and Saturday.
