SH-2G Super Seasprite damaged during RNZN trials

The Royal New Zealand Navy (RNZN) has temporarily halted the
first-of-class
trials for the new Kaman SH-2G Super Seasprite helicopter on the Anzac-
and
Leander-class frigates after aircraft NZ3604 suffered major damage
during a
heavy deck landing.

Also adding; The Australian Opposition Party has finally woken up and started protesting the RAN’s order of SH-2G(A)’s, One member was quoted as saying, “for that amount of money we should have bought brand new machines, not second hand throw aways”!

This will not alter the deal in the slightest, but has raised again, the current problems involving intergration of software programing into our machines.
We seem to have a knack for this, we want all the latest programs fitted into systems that were designed with a spacific computer function in mind, we all remeber the Collins and the Seahawks but add to this the Hawk Mk-127’s and C-130J’s, not to mention the Army’s S-70A-9’s.
Maybe Australia should start looking at building it’s own again, god knows that we have the talent for it.
