Tristar Tankers

Just going over a few old issues of AFM from July, 1988, which had an article of the ‘new’ RAF Lockheed Tristar tankers.

I was wondering about the RAF’s thinking as to putting the refueling probe on them, it seems rather odd to have a tanker with that ability expecially given the low transfer rate of the system compared to the “boom” type.
