This came in two types, the N-22B and N-24B. The N-24 was a little longer and had a hard point under each wing! Today these a/c are used by the countries of Indonesia, PNG, Phillipines and Thailand.
There was alot of contravercy over the design that prompted their retirement from the Australian Army! Sadly they where known as the “Widow Makers” due to that design flaw!
Seen here in the three different colours that they had during their time with the AAAvn Brigade they are:
Dark Green with Oragne tips, original colours
White, UN deployment colours for peace keeping in PNG
Comoflage, this rather complex camo was applied to both the PC-6 and N-24’s during the early 90’s
“We the unknowing who have been doing so much for so long with so little, now attempt to do the impossible with nothing”!
