Peace in the Middle East

Please note, Flammers are not welcome! This here is a discussion on a very reasonable topic and if you wish to flame it, I won’t hesitate to pull the plug! Now on with the talk!

The current situation in the ME is really hinging on one thing, and suprisingly it’s not the Afghanistan problem, nor the U.S. v’s Iraq rematch, but on the Palistinian/Israeli problems!

Most, if not all, of the ME arab countries have said (according to my information) that the peace accords in the ME are doomed to failure unless this situation is resolved once and for all! Sounds to me like the Arab world is sick of this business, and they now want a resolve no matter what it takes!

As I have said in the past, and will yell on a mountain if you like, I have very close friends in Israel. I am for ever concerned as to what is going on over there!

The Palistinians were offered an incredible deal by the Israeli government, everyone was happy about it! Now it seems that it’s not good enough! The other day I was watching the early morning news and they had an Official from both sides talking about the Israeli pull out which is now going on! Both men sounded tired of this war, both men agreed that the offer was the best ever, and both men said that it was the extreemists that are causing the problem! How do you fight these people? Who are they? Where are they? And what do they concider a reasonable solution?

But more importantly, what are the Arab Nations doing to help attain peace? It’s ok to go around and say “We are sick of this, end it”! Could a Palistinian state be created where there is peace with it’s Jewish Neighbour? Would the Arab countries form an alliance and station “Peace keeping troops to quell any further troubles, more importantly again is the question of would they? Could an Omani Brigade patrol a sector of the border? Would Morrocan troops stand in front of rioters and say “That’s enough, go home”?

If the Arabs want peace, what are they willing to do to secure it? I’d be especially interested in hearing from Skythe and Kfadrat on this!!!
