In all my time reading about their systems, there are still a couple of things that perplex me.
1. What does the “Ye” stand for in the designation for a airforce prototype? Such as Ye-155 for example for the Mig-25.
2. On the project 1144.2 Oran class CGN, better known as the old KIROV or now the ADMIRAL USHAKOV class there are 3 rows of SA-N-6 VLS tubes on forecastle in front the of the massive VLS set for the SS-N-19 SSM. Why is it that there is such a space between the 1st and 2nd rows? Take a look at the pic below if you are not familiar with the set up.
