Was this rumour true ?

During the ‘Restore Hope’-operations in Somalia, the US army got at one moment assistance from newly arrived Italian armed forces. The cooperation prooved problematic with US officers in the field claiming they never wanted to work again with Italians accusing them of incompitance.

I read this (was a small article of a few lines) in a belgian newspaper at that time. Can someone here confirm this ?
