Scooters thread on the A4/SEM reminded me of a question I was going to seek the wisdom of the forum on a few weeks back.
I’ve seen a couple of reports dating from 98/99 that the Brazilian Navy had engaged Marsh Aviation to source and upgrade some ex-USN E-1 Tracers to address theyre naval AEW requirement. The excerpt below is about the most detail I’ve discovered:
“Embraer and Marsh Aviation have proposed using the S-2F3T or E-1T TurboTracker to meet the Brazilian Navies requirement for an AEW aircraft. The package includes Allied-Signal TPE331-14G/R turboprops, a new electrical and avionics system and an FIAR surveillance and tracking radar.”
Does anyone know if this ever came to pass and any details reg the “FIAR surveillance and tracking radar”
Cheers,
Steve
