AIR-2A

Little is known about this air to air missile produced by MDD in the late fifties. It supposed to be an unguided air to air missile with a nuclear explosion, ofcourse very heavy. By that time, guided missiles were still in their testing fase and this could be an alternative for big incoming soviet bombers, ofcourse I would not suggest to use this AIR-2A above big urbanised locations like NY. But above Alaska or Canada it could be reserved as an ultimate solution.

The first conventional A/A missiles were also unguided, but had an enormous speed and even if they didn’t hit the target itself, the firewall around the ac would always make it difficult for the enemy to proceed its mission.
