TR1 during S

I read recently about a TR1 in mildenhall, 1991. It carried ship markings on the side, and when interviewed, the pilot said “no comment”. What could these markings be? What were the TR1s used for? and, WHERE were they used FROM? (Maybe carriers like U2Rs in the pacific, in the 60’s – 70’s?)
