I recently bought the new (August I beleive) issue of AFM in Germany, very interesting and all that but there are a couple of things which cofused me a little.
1st, Is the picture of the new Chinese attack chopper a joke?
2nd, Have the Makedonians really started opperationg Ka-50s or is AFM becoming an aviation world equivalent of the Sun (for non-Brits: a crappy tabloid newspaper which publishes rumours and not news)?
3rd, The new Russian sub-munition for the RBK-500 (featuring both IR and mm-radar guidance, designed to make a tank commanders day more interesting) is to me a bit of an enigma. The “article” states that 15 sub-munitions fit into one RBK-500 and then, practically in the same breath, tells us that upto six tanks can be destroyed by one RBK-500. Does this mean that it takes 2.5 sub-munitions to kill a tank?
4th, The European Air Power Survey contains a section on Yugoslavia which is a copy+paste edition of all the Yugoslavia related news AFM has published over the last few months. What interests me is the part about G-4s doing extensive night exerecises. My question is how? What equipment do G-4s have to conduct any sort of military task at night?
Thats all the questions. Thanks.
