Atlas CAVA

i finaly got round to asking the aircombat lot about the SAAF. i can’t remeber who but someone was curious about the mysterious CAVA. have a look at this
“The Cava was a next generation light multi-purpose fighter which was based on some of the technology that Atlas (now Denel) gained from building Mirages under license. The Cava was supossed to replace the Cheetah in the mid-90’s and I think there was even a mock up of it. It probably would have incorporated a lot of Israeli technology but it never made a first flight. It never even got into the development stage as Apartheid fell apart (ironically) and the new government scrad the plans. The Cava was cancelled in favour of the Chetaah upgrade.”
