RAF leave Germany.

Dear all,
Today on the 15/6/01 the RAF left RAF Bruggen with their Tornados, what a sad day it is after being in the country for 56 years.
In one respect this is good because it was costing too much to operate them abroad and the fact there coming back to the UK so we’ve had abit of an air defence ‘boost’
But what we going to do if we have to mount another operation around the Balkans area with out this particular forward operating base which was used in the wars against both Iraq and Serbia.
Tanker support I hear you say but do you mean the tanker support that is already at full stretch.
