When compared, the AGM-84 and AGM-142 are physically quite similar (in the same weight and range class). However, the AGM-142 is optically guided, whereas the AGM-84 is radar-quided. How would the Have Nap fare as an AShM? It’s a supersonic missile, has a warhead twice the weight of that in the AGM-84, and the optical seeker is passive, thus being more stealthy to ESM. Also, as the missile is optically guided, a WSO could target the most vulnerable areas of a ship. So what do you guys think, could the AGM-142 be used against ships?
