Myasishchev Bison

This aircraft was said to Russia’s equivalent to the B-52. I don’t want to turn this into a forum on how the B-52 is better, I just want to have a nice discussion about this often looked over, Russian bomber. I am not even sure of the letter/number designation. Is it M-4, maybe? Anyway, can anyone tell me some interesting things about it or if you know, just a rundown of its career including variants and stuff. It reminds me of a larger Badger with four engines. I think the VM-T Atlant is still in limited service in a cargo role. The Bison airframe is very graceful looking to me, certainly more graceful than the Bear. Anyway, just thought I would try this topic out.
