Just read in the NZ herald that the NZ govt plans to retire its A4’s next year. They will do this at the end of the agreement with Australia that involves 6 A4’s based at Nowra Naval air station on Australian Navy support roles. The new RAAF Hawks will take over this role. Many like me in Aust (and no doubt NZ)will miss the A4’s because they always put on a good show. It also implies that NZ will no longer have a fast jet force. Not sure but I think they will join Ireland as one of the few 1st world countries without fighters. If I was a A4 pilot now Id be at the RAAF recruitment office tomorrow.
