Yugoslav PVO

LAST EDITED ON 21-Feb-01 AT 04:18 PM (GMT)[p]This is the statement that came from recent meeting of PVO and the meeting of Yugoslav Security Council suggesting that they are already looking into better AD equipment for PVO.

” Yugoslav Air Force and Air Defense has highly professional, trained and motivated personnel, but the technical factor is rather low, which requires purchasing of new and sophisticated means in order to improve defense capability of the country. “

here is million dollar question .. what is the equipment that they might be interested in purchasing. But before you all start rattling all AD systems in Russian Arsenal .. take in consideration the financial and political situation of the VJ and the country in general. It is obvious that only “very” limited funds will be available for purchase of new equipment ,,, and NATO is sure to block anything they perceive as too big threat.
(this is all assuming the arms embargo will be removed or reduced by mid year as it is suppose to )

So what do you guys think …will they get anything at all… what? … and will it be any soon?

PS: I haven’t been in yugo. since 97,… and the military aviation is just a small hobby so I don’t have “large” amounts of information and news on disposal … So id appreciate any info with regards to Arms imports/exports to Yugoslavia … even the things which are only rumors
