NATO's HAS during coldwar

hello,

Was wondering if there were (and still are) NATO AFB wich had simular aircraftshelterprotections like saddam had during the Gulfwar. Are their NATO airfields which are comparable with those in Iraq ? How good were the HAS at important NATO bases like Ramstein, Bruggen,… Could those shelters withstand direct hits from Russian 500kg bombs ?
