HAF vs THK

Ok guys i dun know much about this particular ‘situation’
Can some of you answer some of my questions?
1 I know there have been a war over cyprus? ,with Turkish Marines/forces doing some serious amphibious assault,Can some one tell me why ?What is the political angle here for both sides.
2 Anybody can tell me the choronology of the whole campign(briefly is enough) and what is the Turkish objectives?
3 Is the engagements limited to cyprus or its a free for all,and whats the value of the island?( i dun mind some geo lessons)
4 Ok modern day hypothetical scenario HAF vs THK, who can achive air superiority and then decisively support their surface forces in acheiving their goals.
