Best military transport?

This role is one which seems to be forgotten in this forum!!

What is the best military transport aircraft in the world? Personally I like the C-17. Massive cargo carrying capability coupled with amazing short-field performance. OK you’re not going to use the short field performance that often, but it’s good to know you’ve got it if you need it!!
