Fighter constructors

The next generation of fighters is around the corner. At first sight one would think that there are many companies developping and producing them, but when you look closer, those companies are almost incestious…

-EADS constructs both the Typhoon and the Rafale.
-BAE has the Typhoon and the Gripen that it can market, plus it probably will help building the JSF.
-LM has the F-16, Raptor, and maybe the JSF. Moreover, it has helped develop the A/T-50 and F-2.
-Boeing’s only fighter is the F-18, and maybe it will win the JSF order.

I think this certainly will lead to some unfair marketing of some types…
But what about the next next generation fighters; if there are only 4 manufacurers left, we will only get 4 different types…
What’s your opinion?
