Brits lose some ASV capability

The British have decided to stop integration of anti-ship-missiles on their aircraft. Both the RAF Tornado GR1B and RN Sea Harrier FRS1 were able to carry the excellent Sea Eagle missille. After upgrading to GR4 and FA2 respectively these aircraft won’t be able to launch these missiles anymore. This measure is supposed to cut costs.
The RN said that they will rely on ship launched ASMs instead (Harpoon). I don’t think it is very smart to do so, considering the lessons learned during WWII. Although it is nowadays very unlikely that major naval battles will be fought, one can never know what will happen in the future. There are still countries with powerful navies.
What do you think of this decision???

Ference.
