Airfield Attacks

I’m wondering how succesful anti-airfield ops have been in recent conflicts. The Israelis in 6-day war did well and gave Egyptian airbases a good rojjering. Pakistani strikes against india in ’71 didn’t come in at strength. However even when one side has had the overwhelmeing strength I’ve noticed that in Balkaans and Desert Storm, enemy fighters still took off despite the thorough pounding their bases took. I can’t remember what Desert storm and Balkaans strike packages comprised off but they have varied in size from several to 10s of fighters.

With a vast array of lethal weapons-Durandal, LGBs, JP233s- competing against massive bases and defenses(some iraqi bases were~4x size of Heathrow airport in UK) how concievable is it to strike airbases?

In a more equal conflict, indo-pak and israeli-arab, where counter air ops have always recieved priority, losses could be horrendous with fighters coming in low. I have reservations that enemy bases can be knocked out for a sustained period of time, hence the gamble losing precious fighters for little in return.
