RAF Pumas a.k.a Flogging a dead horse……….

While there is great talk (Hoon, Guthrie et al) of our forces being mobile, air deployable etc, why is the RAF and Army using ancient Gazelles/Lynx/Pumas!!!???
We have spanking new chinooks and will get Merlins for the RAF as well as the Navy, but surely our air mobile brigade and inf forces need new light and medium choppers, take the Sea Kings of the Commando Brigade, ancient!!!
Are we obsesed with “sexy” kit such as the Apache and Eurofighter at the expense of important support equipment!?
