LAST EDITED ON 08-Dec-00 AT 05:17 PM (GMT)[p]China is beginning to make its own fighters, after they copied the Mig 19/21 (F6/7) and the Su27. Here’s a list of all new fighters/projects.
– FC1 (single-seat multirole fighter)
– JH7/FBC1 (dubble-seat naval attacker)
– J10/F10 (single-seat multirole 4th gen. fighter)
Most of these fighters are already obsolete and make no chance against new European, Russian or American design’s, but still …
For instance, take the JH7, not at all a new fighter (a mix between an F4 and a Mig 23 or something), but in big numbers it can damage enough. (for more facts, reed AFM issue of December 2000 p 36).
Still, the PLAAF is not interrested in the “flying leopard”, an they prefer the Su 30 MK as their main striker. The only 26 examples are now in naval service.
Is there any country (except Pakistan) who’s interested in this Chinese -home made- fighters?
