F-4G Wild Weasel

I know that this aircraft left the USAF inventory in 1996, but aren’t they really missing it? I understand that the F-16CJ provides only about 80% of the capability of the “Rhino”. Was this aircraft as truly as lethal as it appeared in the SEAD role. It seems to me to be the perfect aircraft for the SEAD role. It was specialized for the role and therefore had the right sensors. If they had found a way to perform a SLEP on the airframes or even some how restart production and implement new construction technologies, the USAF may not have the SEAD gap they have now. They don’t even have a dedicated jamming aircraft, they have to rely on the Navy’s EA-6B Prowlers. The F-4G was not only a lethal SAM-killer, but it retained the fighter performance stats of the F-4E and still had AIM-7 and AIM-9 missiles to defend itself. Imagine if they had been upgraded with new cockpits, radar, and AIM-120 missiles. I am just wondering some opinions on this plane as well as the true reasons why the USAF retired them and if they ever thought about upgrading the further.
