Are there any clues as to when the new Italian Air Force Interceptor question will be solved. I know they were discussing options after they realized that the F-104’s would not bridge the gap to the Typhoon. They evaluated the F-16, Mig-29, and Mirage 2000. (On paper only) They found out how lame the Tornado F.3 really was, hence the need. It was a good idea, but how sucessful, illustrates the difference between physical and paper realities. In the early 1980’s they were offered a lease on 50 F-15’s. Maybe we’ll see that. I’d like to see them with the Mig-29, but I know that is unrealistic. What do the readers know ????
