I just wanted to know if the WW2 British institution of the “late comers club” was active after the war in the lines of the Catterpillar Club or the martin baker club.
The Late comers club had as its members, Pilots who were shot down or had to bale out in enemy territory/no mans land and had to trudge back to thier squadrons. thus arriving late. they wore a small badge that showed a a pair of boots with wings.
if anyone can give a more descriptive version of the history behind the late comer’s club, much appreciated
