There’s a “Navypedia” of some interest too:

For more recent descriptions of fleet inventories you should try to locate one of the volumes of “(The Naval Institute Guide to) Combat Fleets of the World”, published roughly every 2 years since the mid 70s.
(ok, the recent 15th. edition is of 2007…)
Older issues are available at second-hand-bookshops at good prices.

Here in Germany we have a series of books called “Weyers Flottentaschenbuch/Warships of the World” first published in 1900.
About every 2 years it lists all ships of all navies with comprehensive tables, drawings and a lot of photos. The older issues are all german language only but that should be no problem as there is not much narrative included.
Many older issues were reprinted.

Hi
Sorry for my “bad English“:D
You want to know the “orders of battle” of some of the largest navy (UK, France) by early 1960’s ???

You can look the “order of battle” for the French Fleet in 1962 and 1964
😉
