French tv has reported this evening that the Charles de Gaulle has experienced vibration problems (stemming from her propellers wrong see below) so is back in dock.

No not propeller problems – propulsion problems. Something to do with the connectors between the steam turbines & gearboxes – there are 4 connectors, 2 per shaft, and the vibrations are affecting one connector on each shaft, meaning that she still has 50% power on each shaft.

IIRC the CDeG was using props from the Foch for a while. Was this ever corrected and the correct props installed or is she still using the older ones?
They were removed from Clemenceau, not Foch. She is still using hers. CdG has some new props now. If they still don’t work, they could always buy Invincible’s, last seen sitting on her flight deck in Pompey…

Changed during refit, I believe.

One possible cause that’s been suggested is a misalignment or cracks of some sort. Some of the replacement parts that were added during the refit were modified slightly, so maybe they’re not working as well as the original parts.

Again.
Was some talk on TF1 re the need for a second PA as CdG is the only one.
