Hello, i found here a video taken in Toulon (France) about the Herakles Radar (Thales), mounted on the singapourian frigate RSS Intrepid. It’s the speedest radar i ever seen!!!!

LOL, so true! While impressive, I sure hope they are using an advanced bearing (magnetic?) for that thing – the wear would probably be frightning otherwise.

I think it is just making 60 rpm, because the uplink of ASTER needs a 1hz update rate. (http://forum.keypublishing.co.uk/showpost.php?p=1063149&postcount=40)
It looks so fast because of the boxy design (you see a corner 4 times per second) and the asymmetric installation. The only thing I think is when I see this: go fixed phased array!
