Gollevainen's picture request part VIII: Russian ECM system

someone wishperes: “Not again”…

Well yeas Golly is again lacking some cruisal photograhps. This time its the Soviet/russian naval ESM/ECM systems. The thing is that I have quite good information about the systems and which ships uses what, the proplem is that what antenna or array is which? There’s alot of odd rods and pulps in soviet ships and apart from few most obvious ones its rather hard to quess what is what. Somehow there seems to be quite limited information out there with pictures alongside, usually just the information so I have to rely on you guys once again.

As the ammount of systems is quite huge, I can ease the task by listing few things that I really wish to have name and picture linked. These are:

Bell Clout/Bell Slam/Bell Tap eg. the Zaliv systems
Wine Flask
Wine Glass

Just for example post a picture with the associated system(s) marked somehow (or good co-ordinates where to locate it from the ship) is just fine. All the help is appriciated and will ease considerably the task for drawing the soviet fleet for the shipbucket site.

MR-500 Kliver is called Big Net by NATO.
Fut-N is Slim Net.

But if the rif was cancelled before the pr. 56, then would it be strange that it would be fitted on the pr.56M which followed it?
To make things more clearer, here’s a linedrawing from the pr.56M, I’ve marked the radar which I’m talking about.

Do You have NATO name for Kliver?
Regarding Rif, it’s an air search radar on Pr.41 and was also planned for Pr.56 but didn’t meet the expectations and was replaced by Fut-N.

Well to follow on the radar question series, What radar was carried in the project 56M Kildin’s forward mast befoe the upgrations? The size of the radar plate is somewhat similar to Kliver but the aft weight-balanancer and the “horn” are different. All my sources states that the vessel carries a Fut-N (Slim Net) and a some undescriped radar called Rif. Is Rif the one fitted in the forward mast and is it air search or associated to the SS-N-1??

It should…yeas but some sources (which greditability is bit questionable) states that its the Top trough. Is there any list of which ships had Kliver and which ones had the Top trough or what ever it russian designation is. Or is there ever been such a radar called Top Trough by NATO??

Thank you both very much. Those drawings cleared the thing out

But another question emerged concerning airsearch radars and I wont go opening new thread for that so I think it goes here as well.

Which airsearch radar is fitted for Pr. 70E Dzerzhinskii (the Sverldov class cruiser with SA-N-2 Guideline)?? All western sources says that pr. 68Bis class vessles were moderninsed with either Big net (the same radar as in Kashins aftermast) or quite similar L-band radar called Top trough by NATO. After extensive search around all possiple english language sites and sources I sadly discovered that none described which of the radars is fitted for Pr. 70E. From the pictures it seems slightly different than the radar in Kashins so it makes me belive that it is the Top trough (which apparently isen’t fitted to any other ships than Sverldovs) but I’m not 100% certain.

I’m too lazy to draw arrows on photos, so you’ll have to do with diagrams explaining where to locate the aerials on ship photos.
Zaliv is No.18 on the drawing of Project 58 and Kantata-M (that’s the name for Wine Flask/Glass) is No.17 on Project 1144.2.

Don’t know if this helps, but it is all I have.
