Bager, keep your clemenceau at home. the shipyard workers have enough work breaking the worlds ships in Alang and they are dying not due to starvation but accidents & pollution. Alang beaches and sea are a environmental disaster zone.

the whole business there needs to be cleaned up and regularized. but unfortunately lot of vested interests want it as cheap as possible. construction industry lifts a lot of steel rods from the melted scrap steel in small smelters there. foreign shipowners and govts want someplace out of range to dump their crap. and the local “leaders” are ofcourse in bed with the scrapyard owners.

Of course, this is such a “victory for the scrapyard workers” (according to Greenpeace)… now they can have nice, clean lungs as they and their families slowly starve to death because they now have no job!!!

Terran, the old cruiser “Colbert” is in Bordeaux; he has been converted to a museum ten years ago, but this is near bankrupcy today…
I think it will be sold for scrap.
I thought, too of the museum idea but I think the ship is too big or complicated…and you need a 300m dock to put it. anyone has other idea?

Didn’t the USA use the America for controlled target practice over a period of a couple of weeks, to see how it coped with damage, before finally sinking her ?

I would have liked to see her as a museum ship somewhere in France, but that train left a long time ago.

I suggest : put it in the middle of the ocean, and use it as target.
Imagine the advert : “You are angry at france. You want to shoot a french boat? The old battle flag of french navy, the aircraft carrier Clemenceaun is waiting for your missiles!!!
