The USSR looked at something like that way back in the day in the SS-NX-13 (SS-N-6) to take out carriers. The US was going to use nuclear armed Terriers as a defense. These days they’re just looking at fitting PAC-3s to the Mk41 VLS instead. Always thought the Pershing II would have made an excellent antiship missile.
