SUPERSTRUCTURE ON CARRIERS

Excuse my extreme ignorance but I have noticed that no matter what nationality the superstructure on an Aircraft carrier is always on the Right (Stbd) of the ship. Is there aby reason for this ????? :confused: :confused:
