Photo Recon Archive
During the “Cold War” hundreds of thousands of photographs where taken during flyovers, mainly by the NATO nations photo recon units.A magazine was published in Britain for the military only “Joint Services Recognition Journal” and this was Published monthly. Because my interests are Historical I would like to gain access to these photographs before they are just destroyed.Unfortunately I believe a lot of material has already been dumped.

If you can locate them you might try “Soviet Military Power” and “The Russian War Machine”. These ware Salamander books published in the 80’s but they did have several photos of the Kresta I and II. Another thing to be aware of is that many times the photos you see on the net will be the same photos you see in books. For instance if a picture was taken by a P-3 from somebody’s navy the photo could end up all over the place before it’s all said and done.

Old Soviet Kresta Class 1 & 11
Hi snake,
I tried that without much success. I understand some excellent photographs were in Janes Fighting Ships 1985/93 but finding reference copies locally just hasn’t been possible. 🙂 🙁
