Ammo box falls from U.S. Navy chopper
YOKOSUKA, Kanagawa Pref. (Kyodo) A U.S. Navy helicopter inadvertently dropped an aluminum case containing 200 bullets in Yokohama’s Izumi Ward on Monday, according to Kanagawa Prefectural Police.
No one was injured in the incident, which occurred around 8:45 a.m.
The HH-60 Seahawk helicopter, which belongs to the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk and is stationed at the U.S. Naval Air Facility in Atsugi, Kanagawa Prefecture, dropped the 17x10x25cm box from an altitude of about 300 meters. The box weighed more than 10 kg and contained bullets on a belt for a 7.62-mm machinegun.
The U.S. Navy and Japanese police retrieved the box and 61 bullets in a parking lot and other locations.

I seem to remember an EE Lightning chewing bricks from a hangar office wall and the pilot climbing out the cockpit onto the roof of the offices?
Quite right. Loss of brakes on a bend in the peri track behind the control tower at Coltishall. I think the plane tried to enter the 19Sqdn Leaders office. Pilot couldn’t shut the engine down for some reason so took to the roof. Happened just before I was poster to 19Sqdn.

Ummm 61 bullets out of 200, is it just me or is something wrong here?
