Do modern AAM still have gyros in them ?
Do they need to be overhauled after a number of flight hours ?

They may not be working, but being slung under the wing of a fast jet while it flies around subjects a missile to a lot of stress. The missile & critical components should be inspected after a certain time in that environment, I think.

I can’t imagine that they need inspection after certain flight hours because they are not working. They work only when the missile is fired. The complete missiles needs inspection after some time…

But they still need to be inspected after a number of flight hours, right ?

IMHO yes they have. But modern missiles (developments of the last 20 years) have laser based gyros.
