How many variants of this missile are there? IIRC, there’s:
Kh-25ML (Laser)
Kh-25MT (TV)
Kh-25MP (Radiation)
Kh-25MTP (Thermal)
Any others?

Plus it is small and light enough to be carried by attack helos, unlike a weapon like the Kh-29, which has a payload of a 317kg HEAT warhead.

Thats what makes it cool. It’s modular.

Hmmm, I’d be more inclined to think the correct order would be Kh-25MT. Reason being “M” is the baseline missile designation based on the whole modular seeker concept.
I agree that the TM doesn’t make sense, but it is clear in black and white in their advertising in both the English translation and the Russian language section that it says Kh-25TM.

No probs!

Did the China obtain the liscenced copy of KH-25L?last year picture showing Chinese engineers working on laser guided seeker, the nose cone resemble KH-25L.

Kh-25
Advertised on the Tactical Missiles Corporation JSC stand at Farnborough 2006:
Kh-25MSE – GPS/INS
Kh-25MAE – guidance unknown

Ah yes, sorry english is not my first language.
No probs!
According to my info the TV guided model is the Kh-25TM, not Kh-25MT.

Kh-25ML (Laser)
Kh-25MT (TV)
Kh-25MP (Radiation)
Kh-25MTP (Thermal)
Kh-25MR (radio command)
Kh-25MA with Fazotron NIIR MMW seaker head.
Kh-25MS with the PSN-2001 GLONASS/GPS receiver
According to my info the TV guided model is the Kh-25TM, not Kh-25MT.
Also there is another anti radiation type called the Kh-25MPU that is used for medium and shorter range radars and SAMs as well as various other ground based radars.
Both anti radiation models can be used against pulse and continuous wave radar signals.
The MPU is newer and has an inertial navigational control system.
The MP model specifically designed to kill HAWK and Nike-Hercules radars.
The MTP (Thermal) and TM (TV) models evolved from the ML (Laser) model, and yes the thermal model is MTP while the TV model has the MT swapped to TM. (according to my info anyway).
So a corrected list might look like this:
Russian designation: Known in the west as:
Kh-25ML (Laser) AS-10 KAREN
Kh-25TM (TV) UK
Kh-25MP (Radiation) AS-12 KEDGE
Kh-25MPU(Radiation) AS-12 KEDGE
Kh-25MTP (Thermal) UK
Kh-25MR (radio command) AS-7 KERRY
Kh-25MA with Fazotron NIIR MMW seaker head UK
Kh-25MS with the PSN-2001 GLONASS/GPS receiver UK
(UK = Unknown)

Yeup.
