Does anyone know what version Mistral the RAN uses as a CIWS?

The pointed nose shape of the Mistral is good aerodynamically, but it is a very large, very heavy weapon that is hardly man portable. The Igla has an aero spike on its nose to reduce drag while retaining a good shape nose window for the sensor.

This is S. Korean “Shin-gung (Arrow of God)” SAM missile, which has technical tie-up with French Mistral and Russian Igla.

HN-6 has about the same range and warhead as the MISTRAL look at the diameter of the tube is wider than SA-7 even than the stingers and must have a largers boosters.uauslly a blast plate in attach to the HN-6 but they only training with it so I guess the why you don’t see it..

it may look similar because of the missile cap (triangular), but its actually more related to the Russian hand held sams prior to the Igla…SA-7
Mistral is heavy enuff to need a stand

Thanks for the article. I have one question though. What is the source of your statement that the Mistral has been exported to Pakistan ??? I would be interested in reading about it as this is news to me (I would be interested in figuring out the dates, quantities…). The fact that Bofors has been exported to Pakistan is know of everyone (you can find it in many publications), but that is not the case of the Mistral.
Mistral is in service with Pakistan Air Force, Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Army. In fact it has been in service for many years now.
