Images taken on 400D

I returned from Waddington earlier today and couldn’t wait to take a look at the pics I’d taken of the Su-30MKI’s landing, so before I downloaded them onto my pc, I viewed them on my LCD TV. They were, IMHO, fantastic!!! Bright and detailed!!! – surprising, considering the conditions at the time 🙂

I then downloaded the images to my pc and viewed them again. Imagine my horror when all I could see were black Su-30MKI’s on a dark grey background 😮

I checked the images on the CF and found them to be the same….

Thoroughly confused, I opened one of the images in Photoshop and did an ‘Auto level’ – the image came out the same as was seen on the tv.

Why was the image shown on my tv completely different to the image on the CF? Does the 400D do something with the levels as it displays them?

Never had this problem (AFAIK) with my 350D….

As a side note, they’re jpeg images and I tried playing with the gamma etc.

Cheers!

Dave
