Hi all,
I have a Canon 400D and yesterday I picked up a fault in the camera and was just wondering if anyone elase had experienced any problems with the 400D.
I switched the camera on as usual.
Swithed to TV mode.
Decided I wanted to use 1/500th shutter speed.
Went to rotate the main dial to set 1/500th and it locked at 30sec and would not move (the dial was moving but only 30″ showing on the screen).
I then switched to AV mode and again it moved to a set aperture but it stopped at F5.6 and would not step up or down from that setting.
I have been on the Canon website but there is noting about this problem.
I have scanned the manual now several times and I cannot see what I have done wrong as far as setting are concerned.
Your thoughts and guidance would be helpful.
All the best

Sounds a strange issue – not sure if the firmware upgrade included a fix for this instance??
Try posting here as there are lots of users!:D

Sounds very odd Si, I have now taken 2800 images on my 400D since December and not had any problems. I suggest you return it if still in warranty.

Cheers Vulcan for the reply; I have tried it on 2 lenses but still the same problem, however I have just downloaded the latest firmware for the camera and installed it and it looks like it has solved the problem…..still I don’t believe it should have happened in the first place.
All the best

Do you get this fault with any other lens attached.
if not then your lens eyeriss blades are stuck.
thats the only thing i can think off but even that i dont think would cause this problem.
send it back if you are having problems is the best advice i can give.
