Something like the Panasonic DMCF7B with 12x optical zoom and image stabilization would probably serve better for aircraft photography.

If it’s aircraft flying…. forget it 😮
If it’s static aircraft and general shots of the family it’ll be fine.

15x zoom , 3x optical zoom and a 5x digital zoom

Forget any digital zoom, it’s crap, it’ll pixelate (make blocky) any picture.
The 15x zoom is just the 3x optical multiplied by the 5x digital, and like I said, forget any digital zoom.

Concentrate on optical zoom only, the more the merrier, and 3x optical ain’t no good for aircraft flying, you really need 10x optical at least.

Check out something like the Fuji S5600

Hi Jonny!

I can’t tell you much about the camera, sorry. But I’d ignore the digital zoom, optics are where it’s at. When I look for a new camera, I always google for bad reviews, rather than good ones; try something like Samsung Digimax A7 rubbish, etc.

With kind regards,

Mark
