VIP versions of the Hawker Siddeley HS125, and known in the RAF as the CC1, were originally delivered to the RAF between April 1971/72. At the end of March 2015 the four remaining HS125-700B CC3s, ZD620, ZD621, ZD703, ZE395 will leave RAF Northolt and RAF service for the last time. To mark this disbandment there was a mini ‘End Of An Era’ photo shoot at RAF Northolt with the four remaining CC3s lined up side by side on the 32 Sqn. pan. After about an hour the four aircraft were then arranged by their Serco handlers into a semi-circle in front of the air-stairs viewing platform for the gathered photographers. A bit of good news as ZD621 will be returning to RAF Northolt and will eventually be put out to pasture outside No 32 Sqn hangars as a gate guard. Weather wise, it wasn’t raining but it was dull, cloudy and windy with a biting wind chill factor.
