Duxford D Day Airshow First time

Any tips to help would be great. I am using a Nikon d5100 with 2 lens. 50-300 sigma and a Nikon 30-55 which didn’t use for air shots. only take pics at home and would love to be able to take great pics airshows.

I don’t tend to fill the frame because a rule is use is that if something is moving it needs room to move into so I leave atleast a bit infront and it obviously needed room to move out of so I leave about a third of the room behind than what I left in front just gives more feel for motion

Hi its only 1/125. I did look up before going what speed to use and said either1/220 1/250. As a newby was trying out different settings.that is one of the better ones.

Also, there is still the feeling left over from the days of 35mm, that you must fill the frame.
Something I unfortunately still tend to try and do. If you have 12 or 24 mp to play with, there is plenty of
latitude for cropping.

that first shot looks good to me what shutter speed were you using because I think if you had got a bit more so if you was at a 1/180th go to a 1/250th could mean both aircraft are sharp
