Bournemouth Airshow Sunday 1st September

Great show this year despite the Vulcan and Sea Vixen Teching out at the very last minute. The organisers need a very big pat on the back for every part of the day. From the very efficient park and ride to the action packed day on the ground, sea and air. well done Bournemouth. See you next year.
A few photos follow, maybe some more later.

Thanks Simon for your comments. The real shame about the Vulcan and Vixen going tech was that a special formation was announced in the morning. there would have been a five ship formation containing Vulcan, sea Vixen, Meteor, Hunter and Vampire. That’s two weeks on the trot now that I’ve been unlucky with the Vulcan. I’m up in your neck of the woods on sunday for Duxford’s display. looking forward to the whole day there as they are so special.
Glad you liked the photos. I was lucky in getting the French Tall ship coming out of the Merlins Wash, made for a gostly quality.
Maybe put some more on later.
Thanks for your reply flygirl, your shots of your day were up to your ever high standards that I still try to match.

Nice shots – particularly good to see some familiar aircraft in unfamiliar surroundings. Also, very arty Eurofighter shot – don’t you just love it when you are lucky enough to be standing at just the right angle, with your finger poised over the shutter button to get the split-second shot of condensation over the wings? Superb!

I nearly drove from Cambridge to Bournemouth just to see the Vulcan and Seavixen et al fly together – glad I didn’t bother in the end, especially since we’d been in Eastbourne a couple of weeks before. Don’t think the Mrs would have been very enthusiastic about driving all that way and then not seeing the aircraft we’d gone to see.

Perhaps next year…
